Developing Countries Grant Program
The IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Conference Travel Grant Program for Researchers from Developing Countries offers a very limited number of travel grants to assist higher-grade IEEE members presenting papers at IEEE CIS-sponsored conferences.
To receive a grant the recipient must:
1.
Be a higher-grade member of IEEE and IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (IEEE CIS is an optional society membership under IEEE) prior to submitting the travel grant application. Student Members and Graduate Student Members are not eligible for this program and should instead consider the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Outstanding Student Paper Travel Grant Program.
2.
Be the author or co-author of an accepted paper in the conference and actually attend the conference and present the paper.
3.
Have contributed to at least 50% of the research presented. To be confirmed in a letter detailing the contribution of all authors.
4.
Be a higher-grade member at the time of the application and attest by honor-bound signature that the conference registration fee would pose an economic hardship on them such that they would be unable to attend the conference without the support of the travel grant.
Note: Only one author per paper will be awarded a travel grant from this program and a member can receive only one grant per year.
Members need to apply through the Grant Application System. Those who apply need to be very specific about their circumstances and reasons for needing a grant as it will be awarded on a need basis. For instructions on how to submit documents please use this link to the IEEE CIS application page - http://ieee-cis.org/edu/travel/apply/. If you have any questions, please email Dr. Rami Abielmona.
Student Travel Support
The IEEE CIS Student Travel Grant Program offers a limited number of travel grants to assist IEEE CIS Student Members presenting papers at IEEE CEC 2007. For more information please see the travel grant webpage .
The web-based Grant Application System is now open. You can always register in the system at any time. Only complete applications from eligible students will be accepted. Please note that there is no need to send proof of IEEE and IEEE CIS membership as membership will be verified through the IEEE member database.
All travel grant submissions are to be entered into the Grant Application System. No paper application needs to be sent to the chair. Students will be required to present some documentation at the conference (please see the website for details). Travel grant amounts have not been determined yet. See previous travel grant results for an indication of possible travel grant amounts. If you have any questions, please email Dr. Rami Abielmona.
Best Paper Awards
The Evolutionary Programming Society will sponsor two Best Student Paper Awards and one Best Overall Paper Award at CEC 2007. These awards will be presented at the banquet. The winners will be chosen by the EPS Board of Directors based on the technical merit of the accepted papers to CEC 2007.
